Board Certification

Board-certified psychiatrists have passed written and oral examinations administered by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc., A Member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Please note that board certification status is not displayed in the Online OCPS Physician Directory.

If you would like to know if a psychiatrist is board-certified, you have the following options:

1. Call the OCPS Physician Locator Service at (949) 250-3157.
2. Click on the Certification Matters link at the American Board of Medical Specialties website.
3. Call the American Board of Medical Specialties at 1-866-ASK-ABMS (1-866-275-2267).
4. Ask the psychiatrist directly when first contacting the psychiatrist by phone.
